Two years ago.....

This little guy was born.... and changed my life forever. I can't believe it's already been two years, I swear years go by like minutes. I'm so lucky to have this little boy in my life, I sure do love him!

For his birthday Kody and I took him to the mall to let him ride the carousel and "choo choo." I wanted to take him to the Zoo but it was too cold so we settled for some rides at the mall. After the mall, we spent most of the day hanging out, playing toys, picking out balloons, running birthday errands, and watching mickey. Later that evening we had a little family party with pizza, cake and presents! Devin thought it was cool that he got lots and lots of attention yesterday, all day, PLUS he got to eat cake & pizza!!! (for those that know me, i'm strict about what he eats... so it's a rare day if he gets junk food). He was not sure why he was getting all the attention but he had fun. Here are the pics!

It's about time...

I have had "update blog" on my to do list for about six months now and everytime I go to update it, something always comes up and I put it off even more so today I told myself I wasn't going to bed until it's done! So here goes...

Devin will be two NEXT month!! (makes me sad). I feel like just yesterday I was preparing for him to be born and organizing his room... oh how time flies. He is not a baby anymore and has turned into a little boy. He makes everyday so fun and an adventure. He is starting to develop his own attitude and has to do everything "himself." My mom always told me never argue with a two year or you will lose... i'm starting to understand what she meant! Devin loves choo choo trains and Mickey mouse. He has a stuffed Mickey that he has recently started carrying around everywhere and everything Devin does, Mickey has to do too :) It's fun to see him develop an imagination. Devin loves to sing- his two favorite songs are twinkle twinkle and If you're happy and you know it (he calls it clap clap song). He has a huge vocabulary and has recently started speaking in sentences. He is a sponge and will repeat a word after hearing it once (so be careful what you say!). He LOVES outside- especially mowing the lawn with Grandpa. Every night when grandpa comes home he asks him to "start the lawnmower." He loves watering Grandma's garden and doesn't care how soaked he gets with the hose. He still loves books and will let you read to him for hours- especially if it's grandma reading. I could go on and on all day about how fun he is- I love that little boy to death and enjoy all the time that I can with him!

I am still working for jetblue and going to school at the U. This is my senior year of college and will graduate in May with my bachelors in Economics. This semester is going to be my hardest but in 9 months it will be worth it!! I feel like I have gone to school forever and am so ready to be done but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and that's what keeps me going!! Somedays I only get to see Devin for 4-5 hours in between classes. I have been extremely lucky that my family and Kody can watch Devin so much. Kody watches Devin in the mornings while i'm at work or school and two nights a week my mom has Devin while i'm in class. I also have my cousin Braden watch Devin a few hours a week. I have been so fortunate not to have to put him in daycare.

This past weekend we went spent some time at my grandparents cabin... Here are a few pictures!

Tomotos, Tomatoes!

My mom always plants a yummy garden every year. Last week my mom went out and picked some tomatoes, brought them in, washed them and just laid them out on the counter. I was holding Devin and set him on the counter for a minute.... by the tomatoes. He picked one up and before I could get it out of his hands he had already put it in his mouth. My mom and I expected him to make a sour face or swallow the whole thing but as he chewed on it he started sucking the juice and inside out. I thought for sure he would spit it out but he LOVED it. We let him chew on it for a while and then he reached for another one. It was so cute we had to get a picture of it!! :) He Definitely loves his grandma's fresh tomoatoes out of the garden.

9 Months

I'm a little late at posting these but Devin just recently turned 9 months old. Time has flown by for me, I can't believe my baby is already 9 months. I don't know if its possible for a mother to love her child more than I love this little guy. He brightens my world and makes each day better and better. I spend most of my days playing with him and enjoying every minute I can.

At his 9 month check up he weighed in at 20.8 lbs and 30 inches long :) He is growing well and is a healthy little guy. Here are some fun facts about Devin:

* He has been crawling for about 2 months now and just barely started taking his first steps and standing on his own.
*He has 4 teeth, two on the bottom in the front and his top Incisors.
*He still loves his bathtime.
*If you say the word "outside" he gets really excited so we have to use the expression "OT" for outside. (Grandpa's fault for taking him outside every morning :)
* His nickname is Simba because he likes to pounce on soft pillows or people so watch out!
*His favorite foods are teddy grahams, peaches, pears, bananas, and anything that we are eating at the table.
*He will give you a kiss if you pucker your lips and say "Devin can I has a kiss?" (It is so cute)!
* His first word was "dadda" but now he will say "baba, lala, yeah yeah, and just recently likes to woooow and dodo"
*When he gets really excited he crinkles up his nose and gives you a big cheesy face.
*He loves to go to the laundry room with Grandpa and play with all the nobs on the washer.
*He likes the piano and will bang on the keys if I let him.
*He loves to sing at night, at church during the song, or if anyone else is singing he will start singing with you.
* He loves peek-a-boo and will hide himself with his blankets and uncover his face if you say "where's Devin?"
*He has a fascination with water so if you have water running he will be right by your side.
* He has an adorable giggle.
* He loves remote controls, cell phones, or anything with buttons.
* He knows how to climb up stairs, but is starting to learn how to come back down.

He is such a fun happy baby and I have enjoyed watching him grow the last 9 months.
